Ok, I fell for it. I watched a video from one of my favorite photographers Polina Washington. She did a review on a children’s receipt camera and I had to get one and play with it myself. I’m always drawn to tools that can add to the creative process. The standout feature of the Anchioo Kids Camera is its instant printing capability. The camera quickly captures moments and prints them on the spot. The prints, while small, have a nostalgic charm reminiscent of classic Polaroids. This feature alone opens the door to countless creative possibilities, allowing users to create instant collages, photo journals, also it uses no film or ink. It burns an image on receipt paper like the receipts you get at the store but it does it with pictures.
The camera comes with a few rolls of paper which seems to be more than enough. The camera also has a disk that you can put music on, It will also take pictures and print later, makes videos, has a few games and many filters built in to have fun with. I wish they had things like this when I was a kid. But I had dirt and Tonka toys, times change. Children have more ways to be creative now.
Decent Image quality
Considering its target audience, I was pleasantly surprised by the 1080P resolution of the Anchioo Kids Camera. While it may not match high-end DSLRs, the quality is more than adequate for casual photography. It only prints in black and white, which is fine for me, and the pictures are grainy but for a toy camera its hard to complain, The camera offers a range of filters and effects, allowing users to add creative touches to their photos before printing. From vintage sepia tones to bold black-and-white contrasts, these effects can elevate the visual appeal of your photographs.
Beyond its intended audience, the Anchioo Kids Camera can be a valuable tool for creative projects. Artists can use the instant prints as the foundation for mixed media artworks or experimental collages. Photographers can challenge themselves by embracing the limitations of the camera, using them to fuel their creativity and explore unconventional photography techniques.
